Upper/Big Meadow Creek, Synopsis Upper Meadow Creek was a great place to view bird life - a productive riparian area stretched along the creek, offering great habitat for an assortment of warblers, vireos, and flycatchers. The creek itself hosted a beaver family. The short and easy trail along the creek leads to Twin Lake in the Glacier Peak Wilderness, a very calm and beautiful lake. While we were camping at the trailhead, we saw the forest fire we heard about. At night time, we could see the flickering flames on the mountain horizon. It looked small from where we were, but the flames we engulfing entire trees. The next morning as we drove out, we passed through the thick smoke drifting off the mountains. Top
