A Left Coast Birder's Viewpoint

Where’s Washington?

Washington
lies north of Oregon and west of Idaho.  The capital is Olympia.  Washington is 66,544 miles2 with a population of 6,287,759 (as of 2005, US Census Bureau) and growing.

Not to be confused with Washington, District of Columbia, It lies between Maryland and Virginia. It is the capital of the USA.  The District of Columbia is 61 miles2 with a population of 550,521 (as of 2005, US Census Bureau) and shrinking.

It irks me that the reporters (as the most noticeable people among many) refer to Washington as the US capital.
